>>30992156People would've complained regardless, since base Greninja had Mega Sceptile and Mega Charizard as rivals, defeating them alone would've raised some eyebrows and typical complaints such as Asspull! or Mary Sue. I get why they did it and i'm cool with that, the plot needed it, and it sold thousands of merch and made Greninja as a whole more iconic and lasting so it stands better chances to survive in future Smash games. I ain't mad.
