>>12253983>Also ME was invented in the 5th gen days, Mystery's comic is 5th gen too.hownew.ruME has been around since before gen 5 was even announced. It's a chicken and egg thing, and of course the
mystery egg came before that chicken. Mostly it was a thing on various forums where people would trade mystery eggs for bred pokemon to people that liked shit like unwrapping gifts. Mystery egg runs came later, but still before gen 5 IIRC.
In the future know what you're talking about so you don't look like a gay nerd.
Also, anyone interested in some legitimate logic in why ME is dying when several people a day used to be served mystery egg teams, usually non-regulars as well:
We can eliminate people getting bored of mystery egg runs as the limited pool of regulars would do them several times in a row, yet we were by large a minority of the people doing them; Most were anonymous blow-ins, and it's how we got most of our new regulars for a while in fact.
Mystery eggs are dying because it's becoming harder to provide and find them, with a smaller pool of people breeding, trading and providing, and the most autistic of us gone from the thread.
And why is this, then, you ask?
Because no matter how autistic you are, breeding, trading and battling simply isn't enough to draw you together into a community. The socialisation between regulars misnomered shitposting that went on here kept a large crowd of people that could provide mystery eggs and other trades almost at a moment's notice, and when that became anathematised and migrated almost totally to my facebook group, the thread turned into the sad boring deathmarch of cycling "regulars" with a handful of stragglers it is today. Mystery egg runs themselves were the source of a great deal of the socialisation, so you've got a vicious circle effect too.Hope u fegs enjoyed my novella. :3
