As it stands, the games seem like they have no content, and TPC was banking on everyone shitting themselves over the Max forms.
We're in an era where the internet is all-encompassing anyway, so when the games come out, everyone and their mothers are going to post like hell about how they thought such-n-such Pokemon is so cute, or drawing fucktons of lewds of everything, while the furries make their dumb recolor OCs of all the new Pokemon.
Might as well have more of the reveals come from an official source than to have your entire Twitter/Facebook feed bombarded all at once on release.
