>>43894208Didn't think I'd say this, but I almost wish the game had slightly less fan-service. Because what's there is great, but that is the ONLY thing people have on it. Even a buddy of mine is convinced that XBC1 is better simply because it's less 'anime' which is asanine in and of itself. The world of XBC2 is really a fantastic one, and every area is a treat to visit in my opinion. And as you've said, the battle system has a lot going on, almost that it's 'hard to learn, easy to master' because once you get going, you can pull off many interesting combinations and really exert your will on the battlefield. Also all of the characters are great to play as too, with Tora being one of my favorites because he doesn't need anyone for a break/topple/launch/smash combo.
Some actual problems of XBC2 lie more in that stupid bastard of a gacha system for blades, and Ursula's bullshit ass quest chain. But it's easy to write off XBC2 even without having played the game due to 2 characters intentionally making asses out if themselves on a side-quest that would likely be missed.
But fuck em, I'll have my cake and eat it too.
