>>37461697I've done it for all three of my previous runs (Ledian/Butterfree/Karrablast). Usually I pick something without access to STAB at all (in Karrablast's case, I found a romhack of Red which fits this criteria), but as HGSS doesn't have such a mon (spare stuff like Magikarp) I opted to just avoid using STAB on a regular mon. It's pretty interesting to use weird collections of coverage moves instead of a more standard moveset, but it honestly doesn't feel like the mons I use are much less powerful than I'd expect (then again, I haven't done any normal runs to compare).
Ho-oh and the final johto Rival fight complete. Corsola learns Earth Power at level 53, which rounds out my coverage and will probably complete my moveset up until Red.
