>>51487373Ganguro was well known enough to be parodied in videogames as early as 1998, Jynx is a few years earlier but it might've already been established by then. Jynx also has similarities to Woo the yeti from Ultraman, Groke the ice monster from Moomin (Moomin is very popular in Japan) and blackface monsters that appeared in the Dragon Quest series (Voodoo Gooroo, Headhunter, etc.). In fact, the ganguro thing seems like a secondary reference compared to those other potential inspirations which Jynx shares a lot more in common visually.
