Pokemon designs are shit and we constantly talk about how shit they've become but the moment another franchise is brought into to picture you'll defend each and every shitmon like your life depended on it. It isn't even about designs anymore, just trying to feel superior because your franchise can sell more even though people can enjoy both without throwing shit at each other. The one thing Pokemon had going for it was not overdesigned dragons that Yugioh and other monster anime/games that spam them constantly, now we have Mega Rayquaza and Ultra Necrozma, and expect more with Gen 4 remakes or the follow up title for Gen 8.
