He was obsessed with Knuckles and created a bunch of Knuckles OCs that he filled the comics with, as well as OCs for other characters like Sonic. His writing was really bad and it got the point where the head writers had to step in and cause a huge universal reset after writing a crossover with Megaman. Penders then got fired and tried to sue Archie and SEGA as well as claim ownership of all his Knuckles OCs. He went on to attempt to make his own comic based off his Knuckles OCs but instead of echidnas they are aliens. It never took off.
