As I was walking to the Ilex Forest to train a bit, it suddenly dawned on me just as I walked into the fight.
Holy crap, I was not prepared.
Jawhar's Bite quickly took care of his Gastly, but then he sent his level 18 Bayleef and I felt real despair as I saw my attacks do nothing against it.
Aquilo's Gust did chip damage, and he was quickly poisoned and I used Sand-Attack once just before I had to switch him out before he died, praying it would do something.
I switched to Belldayne, hoping he could tank Bayleef's Razor Leaf while buffing with Growth.
Despite maxing my Attack, Wrap barely damaged it, and it revealed Synthesis among its moveset.
Desperate, I switched to Poe hoping to put it to sleep while I try to figure something out.
I couldn't think of anything, as my strongest pokémon were weak against Bayleef, so I just used my last resort and used Curse, hoping Poe wouldn't get killed immediately after.
It worked, Bayleef kept using synthesis, but it eventually ran out, and I kept switching between Belldayne and Silk, putting him to sleep to minimaze damage taken.
When Bayleef finally went down, Yonnielle quickly dispatched his Zubat.
I'm ecstatic we won and we all survived.
