That sudden decline between Gen III and IV is mostly because I play ROMhacks a lot and almost all hacks are of the first three generations. I mean some add Pokémon from later Gens but others are vanilla-ish.
Also want to give a shout-out to the Fakemon Pumbloom and Skarmiger (evolved form of Skarmory) for being the only Fakemon I remember carrying on my team for longer than the few seconds it took to determine whether I want to use them.
