>>54827925Close but not quite. Venusaur has claws and sizeable teeth, like you might assume a dinosaur to have. But if you look at it's leg structure and the fact that it has protruding ears, not horns, I'd wager that it resembles an early synapsid rather than a dinosaur or a frog.

It could've been my intention to make it appear like a duck and not an ostrich, maybe I'll give it a few swimming animations 20 years later and change it's 8-bit cry to a 'quack', but at certain point, what it is and what it was intended to be are different things. Especially if the creature becomes so popular that when a paleontogist that's an expert in ostriches names a new ostrich-ancestor fossil after it. Basically pic rel.
