Sometimes you kind of forget, you know? Like how Mario or Zelda is just borderline enough to be enjoyed by anyone despite its simplicity. The story isn't embarrassingly childish, the characters are fun and whimsical in a fantasy world kind of way. Sometimes the writing can be legitimately funny, like the Mario RPG games.
