>>45588008Hatterene is female because literally every basis of it's design is something that's exclusively female. There's no such thing as a male Witch (that's just a Warlock or a Wizard). There's no such thing as a male Princess (that's just a Prince). Jynx, Froslass, there's a lot of other pokemon who's origins are from creatures that are all 100% female in nature, and they all have 100% female species members as a result. It's not a bad thing, and it helps to enforce the idea behind Hatterene and those pokemon and make it's concept clearer. I do genuinely think those pokemon, are better for their gender rates because it either shines some light on what they were based on or adds character to them that wouldn't exist otherwise.
If a male variant were to exist, I think the only way it'd make any sort of sense were to be if Hatterene had a split evolution line where the Males evolve into something completely different, such as a fusion of a Warlock and a Prince to be better juxtaposed next to the Fae Witch Princess that Hatterene is.
