>>25260661That's only because the games got delayed. They were originally supposed to be released in 2005 in Japan but GameFreak couldn't get the online features to work on time due to their own incompetence.
Anyway, I'd forgive them that one since it was a new generation for an entirely new console AND we had Emerald and FRLG to tide us over till the release, right now we're just waiting for a fucking re-packaged version of XY (which many agree are some of the worst mainlines ever released) while being stuck on fucking ORAS, their worst remake yet.
How the Pokemon fans haven't killed themselves by now remains a mystery
