The gist of this wall of text is that while Team Meteor founder Solaris's bloodline was charged with protecting the Arceus meteor, each generation of evil cultist man's family would serve them. Unfortunately, being born blind, he would make for a shit servant. Back then Solaris gave no fucks and to stick it to the man he takes Elias on anyway and they become best buddies.
Eventually, Solaris' parents were killed by people seeking the keys to the meteor, and that's when he starts giving a fuck and tells Elias to step up, offering him the emerald key. This results in Elias suddenly waking up no longer blind, and affirms his faith in Arceus.
He seems like a genuine believer. Also, since every generation of the Meteor family meets the cultist family, Taka might know Luna. Hmm.
