They are returning competitive battling to its rightful owners - the 7-12 year old target audience for the game who wouldn't know a weather team from their own asscracks. Mega Pokemon will make competitive play insufferable for Smogon types and a thousand times more fun for little kids who don't care about strategy. This is GF's trump card to purge the undesirable element from their fanbase.
