Hello everyone, it's your friendly software engineer and
dogars.org maintainer, Mr. Sableye!
Just an update for all of you about the status and future of
dogars.org.
User submitted banner support and gen 7 models have been added!
it was super quick i'm just lazy lolNormally, you have to email your banners to me, but for a limited time I will allow you to reply to this post with submissions. Keep in mind they should fit the criteria (800x200 [WxH] banners, JPG, GIF (animation is OK). If the dimensions are a little off and are easy enough for me to edit, I can take care of that.
Another important feature that I've added is a daily database backup. You can download the most recent copy of the database at
dogars.org/backup/backup.db. I will not keep historical backups, but you can feel free to do that yourself if you feel like it. I'm only doing this incase I go totally Sator/deadmode and someone else wants to pick it up. It's a simple SQLite file-based database.
As for the future of
dogars.org, a full rewrite is in progress. I hope to at least get a beta version out there by the first week of January. It is going to be a mostly JavaScript enabled version, but I will not deprecate the old (current) version of
dogars.org until I have also written an updated non-JavaScript version as well.
Feel free to give any feedback to this post as well, otherwise email me at sableye(at)firemail(dot)cc with anything else.
And as an added bonus, here's a picture of my Sableye collectables!
