>At what point do you think the soul was lost and the magic died?Probably around gen 8. SwSh felt pretty "empty" to me. It's hard to describe exactly why. And then BDSP killed the hype I had felt in the past for remakes.
>What do you think the future of pokemon is?It's hard to say. You'd expect the series to be open-world from this point on, but Game Freak likes to have features exclusive to one game to make them feel more unique.
If I had to guess, gen 10 is probably going to be less story-focused than gen 9, because they seem to alternate between more casual games with a quick story (gens 6 and 8), and games with more plot focus (gens 7 and 9).

>Who is your favorite pokemon?Porygon-Z all the way. The entire Sinnoh region lived in fear of my level 100 Porygon-Z, as did the Ultra Sun Battle Tree.
