I actually have a lot of fun coming up with names for my Pokemon. It makes me attached to them and makes them feel unique. Some of them are regular names (Philburt, Nancy, Luke), others are allusions to things (Minerva, Plato, Moolissa), and some are just random things that stuck (Teslasecta, Shiny, Fastball)
It's fun. I try to name everyone even if they're trade fodder
