if a type is good, they nerf it to oblivion (ex: normal and psychic in gen 1, dragon until gen 6)
because rock used to be the only type to resist normal, it was deemed appropriate to give it all those weaknesses.
then normal becomes shit, steel gets added (a new type that resists normal, taking away rock's nice, AND resists rock AND is supereffective on rock), which by proxy (together with dark) buffed fighting, which resists AND is supereffective on rock
now with fairy they have nerfed rock EVEN MORE as steel is more prominant.
however, at the very least, rock is buffed by sandstorm. This gave it somewhat of a devensive niche which is cool. and now that poison is not the cuck type it used to be, their resistance to it has some value.
If only they had made it resist fairy...(because fairies and crystals?). A man can only dream
Ice on the other hand is the most cucked type in existance, with fairy taking a big dump on its grave lol
