https://youtu.be/4kJ9wp-mog8?t=22Listening to old 4kids tunes. I noticed all the way until their very last song (Unbeatable) they tend to challenge you directly for even considering being a pokemon master
It's a lot more aggressive than any of the vocal tracks we would get for the series later.
A lot of lyrics along the lines of
"Do you really think you have what it takes?"
"This will not be easy"
"Do you have the skills?"
"This is the hardest X"
Sometimes breaks in the music where the singer straight up mocks you for considering something so difficult as being a pokemon master.
Various songs that seem to be written from Ash's perspective (Undefeatable again)
Seemingly suggesting that it takes a lot of determination and a tiny bit of arrogance to be a pokemon master
"They can never win but they sure can try -- I'm unbeatable"
They distinctly talk about challengers as opponents, foes. People to defeat.
Later songs are much more focused on friendship and fairness
With the sole exception of Diamond and Pearl, you can tell the difference between a 4kids song and any other english pokemon intro track
