I guess in that case you could look at it as the horns being the guard of the sword instead of the blades. It doesn't really work for Cobalion though since his horns face backwards.
Honestly, this whole thread makes me realise I really fucking hate these shitty pokemon, god damn lol, I think I unironically prefer the fucking genies of all things. Just awful all round.
