Calling it now.
The final games for the 3DS are going to be a completely new story set in Kanto. Once we beat the region we'll take the SS Anne to the Alolan Islands (which replace the Sevii islands). Alola now has an established league and 8 gyms. Johto is closed off for some hilarious reason.
