>>41655189Man this fight was so much bullshit it was more of a puzzle than anything. For those that don’t know, Rift Gardevoir has about 1200 BST. To make matters worse, you are stuck in past (there is time travel in Rejuvenation but most good items are in the present and the Wild Pokemon available in the past is very limited where you are) meaning you *can’t* do something like breeding a Sturdy Donphan with Ice Shard to cheese that fight.
The game DOES give you a focus sash a bit before that fight though but I really fucking felt that if I didn’t have the right pokemon for the situation in my Box it could very well be unbeatable.
Furthermore it’s a double battle and Rift Gardevoir will have Raltz and Kirlias spamming dream kiss, though there is a Chesto Berry seller so you buy tons of them. I beat it by starting with a ghost pokemon and a Garbodor with Chesto Berry since God of Death Gardevoir opens with a Dark Z-Move and WILL prioritize type advantage, so the ghost was a lightning rod, then Garbodor could Toxify her and slowly kill her.
But goddammit I couldn’t imagine myself winning other ways than do that and item spam. It just felt so unfair how you wouldn’t be able to Breed or use a Move Reminder or maybe catch a better Pokemon for the situation at that point. You are basically left with what you had before time travelling and I can easily imagine some unprepared person getting royally fucked because of that.
The cutscene right after was anime as fuck and I loved it
