Casuals don't care because they just play to the credits then move on to something else. Competitive players don't care because they just use the best Pokemon available in the game, and the cut can potentially increase variety anyway, as seen in VGC 2014.
If Masuda really is correct about the dex cut allowing more time for other features, then cutting the Pokedex is objectively a good thing. But Stantlertards can't see that so they're just going to bitch and moan until all their box filler is in the game, which will never happen, because any competent game developer will realize that wasting time continuing to implement and maintain an infinitely growing roster of characters is stupid and infeasible.
