The threat of Cyrus is more spiritual. Basically intangible. The question becomes not whether we live or die, but whether or not it's even worth living in Cyrus' ideal universe.

There are more people like this in the real world than you think, in that sense he's one of the most realistic villains in the series, despite being so cartoonishly over the top at times.
