I personally wish he passed down the throne... Gamefreak is rather bigoted in the fact that they don't acknowledge "Gaijins" working in their studios nor criticizing their work. That's why they would scoff at the Italian interviewer when they actually voiced a concern which was legitimate for fans in the west. Once Gamefreak truly realizes that there is a demographic outside of just Japanese children playing "different games and android phones" they would try to make things that would make the world turn heads.
I reside here in Japan and see this kind of thing with Japanese owned companies occasionally.
