I had originally thought that the town to the southwest was something on Algarve, but I think it’s more likely Gibraltar. It is up on a cliff instead of down at sea level, but it is cut off from the rest of the region except for a path through a dungeon, similar to Gibraltar’s layout of being partially cut off due to the giant rock in the middle. The town in game looks very North African too.
