The Pokemon community, at least outside of /vp/, is one of the most positive fandom communities on the internet. At the end of the day it's a shared love of cute and cool animals and creatures and that results in a really nice atmosphere all around, lots of unique and interesting art and with the way these games are, there's also always something to talk about or that the community is excited for. No community is free of arguing or issues or weird people, and Pokemon has those things, but the general positivity far outweighs those.
It's just a real pleasure to be part of this community a lot of the time, and even more so because it surrounds a franchise I've been invested in for nearly two decades now.
And for all the shit I'm sure people will give /vp/ in response to you, I do think /vp/ is one of the better boards on 4chan. Consistently on topic, lots of unique or fun/helpful threads (Showderp is hilarious, at least it was last I checked anyway, and I'm personally very fond of /shw/). A reasonable amount of original content too. You guys are swell dudes.
