>>53942795The simplest ones off the top of my head are:
>Fairy no longer resists Bug (now neutral damage)>Ice now resists Ground (now not very effective damage)Those are the most concrete ideas that I think would also be good for balance but aren't also completely fucked thematically. It helps Bug out some while also not completely gutting Fairy, Ice was already made better with the Snow buff but having an extra resistance that isn't just itself also really helps without gimping the sheer power of moves like EQ which will still ravage strong types like Steel. It shouldn't vastly change the viability of any type (ex: Bug is still going to be pretty bad), and it also doesn't really solve the current big issue of Steel just being insanely good, but it skews things in a better direction.
>>53943195 is pretty correct in that the type chart SHOULDN'T be perfectly balanced. It makes sense that types like Steel are very strong defensively while types like Bug aren't. I still think that even with my two changes, there's probably more that could be done, but I think that starts to eek into territory that doesn't make much sense thematically and could just result in a "new best type". The one I think about the most is>Water and/or Electric are now super effective against Steelwhich makes sense thematically, but I think it'd make Electric too strong of an offensive type and Water way too strong of a type in general. You could just say fuck it and have Bug be Super Effective against Steel, which would result in an objectively more balanced type chart, but it doesn't make much sense thematically (Maybe a pun about computer bugs? Or bugs getting inside circuitry and nibbling on wires?) Rock could probably use some help on the defensive end but I'm not really sure what. Resisting itself could be nice but I don't know how wide Stone Edge coverage is these days.
