>Story
I am raised by my father in a single parent home. My mother passed away when I was younger due to a sudden illness. My father does the best he can, balancing work and me, but it's impossible to fill the void left by my mother's death. He notices my withdrawal and stunted social skills. As a response he volunteers me to work at Prof. Oak's lab tending the the Pokémon kept there.
One day while feeding the Pokémon I inadvertently surprise a Mankey who was sleeping. It goes into a rage sending me running for safety. Suddenly the air around me is filled with a sweet aroma. The same scent that surrounded my mother, a lifelong gardener. A warm, sweet, floral aroma calming as much as it's overwhelming.
The Mankey immediately becomes passive. During the ruckus I failed to notice I had injured my knee falling as I try to get up. Suddenly a vine appears in front of my, I look up.
"Bulba."
Bulbasaur holds out a vine to help me to my feet.
"He's quite the little hero, isn't he? He likes to keep everything under control." Says Oak, proudly.
Overtime Bulbasaur and I grow close. I learn from Oak that he has been at the lab for years. The starter no one ever picked. After sometime Bulbasaur grew into a mainstay at the lab, comfortably keeping an eye on the other Pokémon. Eventually Oak decides it's time my volunteering is done.
"My boy, life's a journey beyond this lab. It's time you see that. The best journey's are made by good company. "
Oak hands me a Pokéball.
From that day forward Bulbasaur and I we're inseparable.
