My brother and I used to battle a lot in Diamond and Pearl, and when we both got Action Replays we abused Rare Candies to make our ultimate teams. The battles always went like this: he defeats a Pokemon, I defeat a Pokemon, he defeats another, I do again, and so forth. It always comes down to my Empoleon and his Infernape, and every single time I'd lose to him anyway lol. As for our teams, I just went for Pokemon I like, and he always picked what was considered good in competitive play. He doesn't know what made those Pokemon good, he just heard the internet say they were. So his team had Skarmory and Blissey in it, with the crappiest movesets you can think of. But he was also a kid then, so can't blame him.
We also did a lot of Battle Tower, exploring the Underground, Contests and basically anything that involves wireless connection. We also did a lot of the same stuff in Platinum and HGSS, but nowhere to the amount of time we both put into DP. i sometimes wish a little he still likes pokemon
