You know something is wrong when a development episode is revolved around crossing a mud puddle and telling her that everything will be fine if she smiles. Basically every single episode that revolves around Fennekin and her relationship is a clusterfuck of boredom. Pancham is pretty based and actually brought much more to the table to Serena's character than any other pokemon. Eevee is annoying cunt that deserves to be used for a crushing snuff video. Her first episode was a rehash of pancham but slightly less interesting. by the second episode it was annoying and in its third episode all I could think of is "HEY AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT IS THE WORSE THING SINCE THE CHEETAH CHIMERA ANT?" For some reason her battles cut off even though she learns jack shit.
Then we have her clinging on to Ash for half of the series while he gives 0 fucks until she is actually helpful to him that has been, what? This is not appealing to girls. Fucking hell he basically dumps her on their "date" and she still helps him afterwards. Then she gets rewarded like a lap dog with a ribbon and everything is fine. LOL MUH ASH. The summer camp stuff is fine but everything else is laughably bad. Their chemistry is also mediocre and every moment she shares with him feels like forced ship crap. Their literal best interactions that actually showed chemistry took 70+ episodes in the mamoswine episode.
I personally would rather have something along the lines of Millefeui. Being that smug should be a sin. Probably something like a hex maniac type companion could work too.
