I liked Iris's struggle against Cynthia and how she still has a long way to go, it reminded me of how Ash lost a ton of leagues to get to where he is now.
I kind of liked Ash vs Steven. It was just a bit bland and the end feels like Steven got robbed rather than Ash being a skilled trainer, Mega Metagross had Pikachu badly outplayed before the "I win" Z-move. I did like the part where Cradily was holding down Gengar and was charging an attack to defeat it, the OST there was nice.
Leon vs Alain was not good, not terrible though but I don't like it. Alain deserved something better than that. I don't like that he's given new pokemon and they die almost immediately, it's like Alain was nerfed.
Overall I enjoyed it. I'll probably rewatch them all occasionally in the future, even Leon and Alain had their moments, like Leon liking Alain's Charizard and its glare.
