It's a successor to the Go Plus accessory used with Pokémon Go (it auto-catches Pokémon and auto-spins Poké Stops to obtain items).
For Pokémon Sleep however, it's a functional sleep tracker you can use instead of your smart phone. It also won't record your sleeping noises since it's unable to, so it measures sleep strictly on motion.
It has a built-in alarm function too.
It unlocks a 6th helper that functions independently of energy and normal levelling up, a sleeping cap Pikachu which can level up by sleeping, and gather a small amount of berries, apples, and cocoa. It's a very small advantage, but a real one.
It also has cross-compatibility with Pokémon Go. Poké Stops spun by the accessory during the day will let your Pikachu gather 6 to 14 extra Grepa berries, depending on the number of Poké Stops visited.
An extra 14 berries per day is negligible, honestly, but it's something.
Really the best reason to use a Go Plus+ is for the more reliable sleep tracking.
