I finished rewatching the first episode and it holds up very well. It actually made me realize that OS is probably the series where the human cast is most often with their life directly threatened. Did we ever have some moments of Pokemon just trying to fucking kill humans in the more recent series? It was great having the Pokemon world also having a dangerous, feral side to it.
