There were originally only meant to be 2 gens hench why Gold & Silver covers both Johto & Kanto, culminating in the ultimate final battle between Ethan & Red.
This is when the series ended, the rest is just filth.
The series started great then they got greedy and started producing cheap shitty games because they know idiots will buy it regardless of their quality. (Kinda like the Sonic the Hedgehog series)
