Two more gyms done! Everything around Vermillion city was pretty easy, I even had to juggle my mons a bit to stay within the level cap lol. Surge was no problem thanks to Sweet the Gloom and Labrat the Raticate with dig. No Diglets needed.
Things went wrong in the Rocket hideout though. Lost Honeydew to a selfdestruct so unfortunately that's how far my Beedrill could go. Tried replacing him with Lucky the Growlithe, but that didn't go well. Then I lost Around the Primape, immediately after she evolved, to Giovanni's Kangaskhan which was strong enough to kill it outright after fake out.
In the end I ended up adding Triangle the Voltorb and my Pokemon Tower encounter: Outcast the Cubone (now Marrowak), who even had a thick club! Makes it a real hard hitter.
Buddy the Butterfree and Vileplume beat Erika with little trouble too.

>>54516389>Does Misty still have that Starmie she had in Yellow?Her Starmie has a completely different moveset in FRLG. Both her mons have waterpulse and recover, so it can be a bit of a pain. Ended up killing it with Wartortle's bite in the end because Gloom was getting too hurt.
