>>54510085Judge can be backbreaking, especially combined with path for maximum disruption. It's at the core of Arceus-Giratina and some Mew and Miraidon decks. Judge by itself is a bit lacking though, since the opponent most likely has ways to draw on his bench, and it also hurts you. It's not awful with Calyrex though, since Calyrex itself draws, and you can actually use the path+judge combo if you bench Lunatone+Solroc to be immune to your own path.
But if you don't want to run path, Iono is generally preferable to Judge, since she disrupts but can also double as card draw to help you set up in the early turns.
Friends is bad because there are other cards that draw 3 but with another effect, cards like worker, Avery, Melony or Miriam. And honestly if you want raw card draw, research and Iono are just better.
