My first Pokemon was a Squirtle and I lost him in the PC not knowing how to get him out after catching Pidgeys.
When I learned to read I continued to play Gen 1, played some Gen 2 but really got into Gen 3.
Chimchar and Turtwig are ugly as sin, and Pilpur or whatever the fuck is a blue Torchic in a clown suit. Gen 4 legitimately got me out of Pokemon with it's fucking hideous designs, and I hadn't even gotten far enough to see some of the worst.
