N's story is a cautionary tale. He was a dark reflection of the standard player character; a boy who never got a chance to leave home to have his own journey...While the parents in BW booted their kids out of the house, Ghetsis locked up N in his room, stunting his development. But once he steps outside and starts to interact with people, he slowly unravels Team Plasma's manipulation. He discovers the truth, that the world is more complicated than Ghetsis led him to believe. By the time of the sequel, he's become a more rounded person. He hasn't completely given up on wanting to set Pokemon free from Poke-Balls, but he's learned how to share those convictions with people correctly. Perhaps he wants to liberate Pokémon so badly because he doesn’t want them to experience the same pain that he did.
Except that's fucking stupid given how N acts. N should have been a big twist villain instead of ghetsis, having ghetsis show up at the end and go HAHA I WAS THE REAL LEADER TEAM PLASMA WAS JUST DIET TEAM ROCKET THE WHOLE TIME! really undermined any sort of nuance there was. That, and the kicking thing.
Team plasma are just diet team rocket, N is an autistic retard who deserved death for his crimes against Unova and her people and got off with nothing, and gen 5 is a fucking shitshow where its "story" drags the rest of the game down with it.
