Fuck yeah! Finally Guzma's on my screen and everything is right with the world again. I cannot overstate how much I love Team Skull in the anime. Even though they seem to be making Guzma a bit more serious than his game counterpart, the underlings are constantly bantering about to make things fun. I wish we'd gotten a Po Town arc, but it's all good.
I know basically two things about the Alola League: Ash wins by Counter the Counter, and I think I know who he wins against. The rest of it is carte blanche for me. I know it gets dragged a lot, and I can see why given that pretty much the entire cast aside from Ash, Gladion and Kiawe have two or fewer Pokemon. But I think there's potential here in the lower rounds; I have no idea how far Mallow and Lana go, for example, so I'll be excited for those matches, at least until they encounter Ash or Gladion. So long as the entire League isn't dogshit, it'll round out what's been a very strong series.
