>Karl's his name
>Karl and I would play pokemon when we got together
>He loved Gen 2 above all else
>Occasionally, he'd see an alternately colored pokemon
>He thought it was a glitch
>Killed every one of them
>I didn't know what they were until I found my first shiny, a Spinarak
>Remember the shinies Karl killed
>Fast-forward to high school
>Everyone's at lunch
>Start talking about pokemon
>I mention some of the shinies I found (by luck)
>Everyone starts mentioning their shinies
>Some haven't found any, while some had found a lot, like me
>Karl speaks up
>Mentions every single shiny he had killed in Gold and Silver
>Room falls silent
>All heads turned toward Karl
>Everyone trying not to beat him into a pulp because we were still in school
>The anger instead comes out in a stream of curses and shouts of "WHY"
>Karl sits there with a shit-eating grin on his face
