>>48668298Okay, I am a retard for completely forgetting other site moderation compared to a clip posting. Still, a small image can be covered up. I don't follow them and haven't seen someone post about it before, but they're posting things for attention and I wouldn't put it past them to overwrite an isolated watermark. I'm not sure if they have had the opportunity to show they would do that yet. They did watermark Sword/Shield info when they were first gaining traction. I'm not sure if they were the source or if they stole it from someone who didn't come forward / was drowned out by people who didn't care.
Your image could be taken as you (the place centro saw it from) already providing it from another place with the watermark and the reposters are just reposting something already stolen. I know it's intended to say reposters like twitterfags are stealing content, but the normalfags the watermark is intended for are also part of pokemon fanbase. Maybe not unacceptable words or phases anymore, but I still feel something ok with TOS but not good for reposters should cover the entire screen for leak streams. "Do Not Repost" like japanese artists use would be ignored. Maybe a word known to be associated with /vp/? FUG repeated all across the footage, and then people eventually start wondering why all leak pictures across news places are always coated in FUG? Maybe TOS friendly swearing like Fuck so "professional" sites have to at least disclaimer? A picture that can be covered up just doesn't seem like a good idea because if centro doesn't do it someone else will cover it up, crop to the relevant part, or report about it anyways to an audience that doesn't care about stolen content. A full screen covering would make it unacceptable for reposting or at least let people know reposters are not the source like centro has done before.
