>>22662636They ban Pokemon so that it doesn't get centralized, stagnant, and unvaried. Granted damn near all things get that way over time, but tiers seek to slow that process and to allow for a wider variety of pokemon to be used within their respective and senior tiers.
VGC only gets fresh blood from new Pokemon, Abilities, and Megas and that usually happens once per year. And because they have no means of filtering aside from introducing things the gameplay is in danger of becoming very monotonous. That's why Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Landorus rule the meta unchallenged and centralize the whole format. It's a damned shame that Gamefreak refuses to support singles outside of the main story. And as a side note its stupid that their are so few, double, triple, rotation, and inverse battles in game.
