We all know GF is shit at optimization and cuts corners
We mostly figured out that Pokemon having a year-by-year release date ruined any chance of the games having any big upgrades
We ALWAYS figure out that the shift the 3d put more work on GF's back than they can handle (even though for some damn reason they never hire more people to leverage the workload)
That all being said, saying the older Pokemon games (the GBA through 3DS ones) are just as shit as the ones on the Switch kinda make it look like you two are pulling things out your asses just to make a point. If the mainlines games were somehow as poorly made, written and coded as Scarlet and Violet this franchise would've fallen off into it's own weird niche like any other fad would, but CLEARLY people still like the old games. SOMEHOW people still hold Emerald. Platnium and B&W in high regard despite them being very mid RPG when ya think about it.
And don't fucking give me the "Everyone just like Pokemon because of Brand Loyalty" argument. Everyone fucking loved Halo, CoD, Gears of War and whatever but no one plays Halo 5, No one playing WW2 or Cold War religiously, and absolutely no one is playing Gears 5, yet Pokemon is still chugging along despite no game being better then the average Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy. We're only "Falling off" now because Scarlet & Violet is literally the Sonic 06 of the franchise, a rushed, outsourced game made by a studio currently too incompetent to fix it's issues.
