I don't think DPfags even care. I mean I'm someone who's stuck with the anime since the beginning and consider DP to be the peak but I'm hyped as shit to watch my boy actually win the league even though I acknowledge his orange league victory and conquering the battle frontier.
I unironically didn't think he would win XY because of Alain. Fuck everyone who seriously though daddys little OC was going to lose and with a fucking Charizard no less. The only way you could get me to believe Ash had a shot was if Charizard returned and Ash learned how to mega evolve it into Charizard Y. THEN I would actually believe he had a shot. Ash-Greninja is fucking stupid. Damn near dumber than Alains existence and how he wormed into the anime. My one grip is that since BW the anime hasn't really done the swap thing where uses his previous gen mons during the league.
