They all feel as though they have a minimalistic apporach/feeling to them, like a cooked chicken leg, but without the meat. Or a bowl of cereal without the milk, y'know what I mean?
Telling (rather than showing) is a prime example of minimalism in writing. Although it could work in art, it's more difficult to kick that habit in writing.
Take for example that Banette fic you just did. When I first read through it and reached the final scene, the MC didn't feel as though he was at this limit, specifically because of the word "he said/she said" (combined with talking in a perfect sentence, even if he's aroused). That ah, kinda killed it for me.
For the sake of keeping word limit short, I wont show you a couple other examples, but can you see where I am getting at?
