I understand the toxins are not only boosters and manipulating, but also deshinibitors, so as I understand is that she maybe had intrusive thoughts about becoming more controlling of her own child to shape them to be more of her liking, and to also avoid losing them which materialized due to the toxins. Still, a lot of people have had bad thoughts and ideas, the difference is not acting upon them, and she acted not upon them on her own will but due to the toxin allowing it.
She's more antagonistic in USUM, where she's doing things with full intent and I actually like her character, but USUM story telling was so weak I prefer SM a lot.
