In the japanese trailer they say its their mission to collect the cells.
The official site mysteriously suggest that "If you collect lots of Cores and Cells, the path to finding Zygarde in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon may become clear." May? Not "will"?
Generations anime shows us Perfect Zygarde in Terminus cave (though its probably nothing since Red is there)
